Eversheds Sutherland Advises WEC Energy Group in Acquisition of Solar Park in Texas

Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce that it is representing client WEC Energy Group, one of the nation’s premier energy companies, in its acquisition of an 80% ownership interest in the 250-MW Samson I Solar Energy Center in Texas.

Samson I is part of five phases of the Samson solar portfolio, which is being built on 18,000 acres in northeast Texas. When completed, the portfolio is expected to total 1,300 MW, making it the largest solar project under construction in the United States.

This transaction follows the announcement of Eversheds Sutherland’s representation of WEC Energy Group in connection with its 90% acquisition of the Paris Solar-Battery Park, a 310-megawatt solar and battery storage project in Wisconsin, and its 90% acquisition of the Jayhawk Wind Farm in Kansas.
