Global Co-CEO and US Chief Executive of Eversheds Sutherland Lino Mendiola and US Executive Partner Adam Cohen take officeApril 01, 2025 April 1, 2025 — Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce a new chapter in the firm’s leadership as Lino Mendiola starts his term as Global Co-CEO and US Chief Executive of Eversheds Sutherland and Adam Cohen assumes the role of US Executive Partner. Mr. Mendiola succeeds Mark Wasserman, who has served as Global Co-CEO since 2017 and US Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland since 2005. Mr. Mendiola and Mr. Cohen take on their new roles today after a period of sustained growth for the firm. The firm’s unwavering commitment to clients and service excellence led to global revenue of nearly $1.5 billion in 2023. “It is a great privilege to begin my term as Global Co-CEO and US Chief Executive at a pivotal and exciting time for the firm. With rapid changes in the global landscape, our industry is at a turning point. We will evolve as well, but we will always stay focused on what matters most - providing our clients with world-class and innovative services,” said Mr. Mendiola. “I want to thank Mark for the incredible job he has done guiding the firm over the last 20 years. I look forward to building on that legacy.” Mr. Mendiola was elected Global Co-CEO-elect and US Chief Executive-elect by the US partnership in 2024. He has been with Eversheds Sutherland for over a decade and focused his practice on energy policy and regulatory issues. He was previously Co-Head of the Eversheds Sutherland Global Energy Sector, which includes more than 200 lawyers around the world. Mr. Mendiola also served on the firm’s US Executive Committee from 2019 to 2023. “I am thrilled to be handing the reins to Lino, who has shown the utmost commitment and dedication to our clients and the firm’s success during his time as a practice group leader and executive committee member,” said Mr. Wasserman. “I am confident Lino’s vision and leadership will guide the firm forward in this new era.” Mr. Cohen most recently served as the Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Board and begins his term as US Executive Partner as part of Mr. Mendiola’s Executive team. In his role as US Executive Partner, Mr. Cohen focuses on day-to-day management and firm operations. He is also a member of the firm’s Tax Practice Group, where he will continue his practice. Mr. Cohen’s predecessor, Cynthia Krus, becomes the Co-Chair of the Global Board, also effective today. “The opportunity to work with Lino at such a dynamic moment for our clients and the business is truly exciting.
