The COVID-19 pandemic is having a devastating impact on lives, livelihoods and industries across the world. It is challenging companies, their legal teams and corporate counsel to adapt to the “New Normal”.
Eversheds Sutherland, in collaboration with the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) and The University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law’s LITE Lab@HKU, conducted a survey of in-house lawyers based in Asia-Pacific entitled Legal Counsel in the “New Normal” - Leadership, Transformation and Implementation in a Time of Unprecedented Change. We received responses from a broad range of respondents, from local businesses to multinationals across different industries. The respondents were mainly General Counsel and senior level lawyers.
The survey results were first launched at an exclusive roundtable breakfast with a select group of General Counsel from both Asia-Pacific and the US at the ACC Asia-Pacific Digital Meeting 2020. This report provides a high level summary of the survey results and captured key feedback and experience shared by the group of General Counsel at the roundtable under the Chatham House rule.
