Eversheds Sutherland acted as Qatari counsel to the dealers and managers on the establishment of the State of Qatar (acting through the Ministry of Finance) Sukuk programme and issuance of U.S.$3,000,000,000 Trust Certificates due 2035. This transaction represents a significant development in the region’s sovereign capital markets and underscores Qatar’s commitment to deepening its presence in global debt markets.
Our role focused on advising on the Shariah compliance elements of the programme, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements and supporting the successful execution of this landmark deal.
