Bonnie advises employers on a broad range of employment matters.
She has extensive experience in federal, state and local employment laws, wage and hour matters, employee classification, workplace policies, including remote working, return to work considerations, hiring and termination issues, cross-border employment arrangements, assessment of litigation and regulatory risk, employee health and safety matters, furlough and layoff matters, employment issues related to mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
Bonnie routinely advises clients from various industries on federal, state, and local employment laws, including hiring and termination practices, employment agreements, I-9 compliance, e-verify compliance, executive compensation, workplace policies, leave laws, restrictive covenants, recordkeeping matters, discrimination issues and agency charges, employee accommodations, Fair Labor Standards Act classification and wage and hour issues, severance agreements, employee disputes, and settlement negotiations.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Bonnie worked at an Atlanta-based law firm where she defended employers in wage and hour actions arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act and various state laws, including complex class and collective actions involving overtime, terminations, and other employment-related claims. She analyzed complex employment law claims, identified defense strategies, interviewed witnesses and administered settlements. Bonnie also provided preventative counseling to clients, conducted employer internal investigations, and counseled employers on matters such as employment contracts, severance agreements, and compliance issues.
