Meltem practices in the areas of general corporate and securities law, concentrating on derivatives transactions.
A partner within Eversheds Sutherland’s Capital Markets Group, Meltem has worked as a dedicated derivatives lawyer for over 20 years counseling clients across the full spectrum of issues relevant to derivatives transactions. Meltem’s clients include multinational corporations, insurance companies, pension plans, asset managers, mutual funds, business development companies, and government-sponsored enterprises. She works closely with each of her clients to develop and structure derivatives transactions to better achieve their business and financial goals. Meltem regularly advises on all areas of derivatives-related laws, including regulatory requirements and limitations imposed on the derivatives markets, and negotiates derivatives documentation and related financing agreements.
Meltem is a member of several industry groups, including the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, the Futures Industry Association, and the American Bar Association’s Derivatives and Futures Law Committee. She earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. from Wellesley College. She is a member of the District of Columbia and New York bars.
