Joseph helps commercial clients recapitalize their real estate and unlock the value of owned properties through sale-leaseback and alternative financing transactions. He has managed many such transactions, including a 29-property sale-leaseback for a major manufacturer, coordinating diligence, purchase and sale documentation, and the leaseback terms across the whole portfolio.
Joseph also represents clients in real estate joint ventures and ground-up development. His work covers industrial development projects, multifamily apartments, single-family for rent communities, and large mixed-use developments. He has represented major institutional clients in the acquisition, disposition and development of industrial properties, multifamily apartments, retail developments and office buildings. Joseph’s projects include a skyscraper in a major metropolitan center, a mixed-use redevelopment of a former manufacturing campus in a major metropolitan area, and a stadium-centered mixed-use development project.
Joseph's practice also includes commercial leasing. On the tenant side, he has handled numerous industrial, retail, and office leases, including managing the national leasing portfolio for an industrials client with over 100 locations, and the expansive office portfolio of a nation-wide company. On the landlord side, among other projects, he manages leasing for a high street retail center.
Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Joseph interned in the legal department of a major national construction company and in the legal department of a restaurant group with over 200 locations. Before attending Notre Dame Law School, Joseph was a commercial real estate broker serving the Chicago industrial market.
