Christian Hilpert heads the German Restructuring & Insolvency practice and our German Banking & Finance practice. He is also the German liaison partner for our offices in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
He regularly acts for well-known insolvency administrators, in debtor-in-possession proceedings as well as debtor-side and for international clients from the automotive, aviation, retail and private equity sectors.
Christian is a member of INSOL International, NIVD (Neue Insolvenzrechtsvereinigung Deutschlands e.V.), co-chair at Sanierungsforum Mitteldeutschland e.V. and was a Member of the Executive Committee of the International Insolvency Institute’s NextGen Leadership Program (2022-2024).

- Advising an automotive supplier on the stabilization and continuation of the business relationship in the insolvency of a sub-supplier
- Advising several debtor-in-possessions on the cross-border links and the treatment of foreign subsidiaries during the insolvency proceedings
- Advising a PropTech-company on its refinancing and subsequent insolvency preparation
- Advising the management in connection with a successful EUR 270m financing
