Eversheds Sutherland advises banking syndicate on Sonnedix's hybrid solar and storage financing

The project, which broadly encompasses the development and acquisition of solar assets across multiple jurisdictions, is among the first financings of this nature carried out with commercial banks in Portugal. The transaction covers two main projects located in the north and centre of the country, comprising a total of 68 MW of photovoltaic capacity and 56 MW of storage.

The Eversheds Sutherland team provided both international and local finance advice. The Portugal team involved in the transaction was led by Ricardo Couto (Partner and Head of the Banking and Finance department) and Pedro Castro Casal (Associate in the Banking and Finance department).

This international financing involved Eversheds Sutherland’s offices in the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain, with the support and international coordination of Mark Dennison (Partner, Energy and Infrastructure Finance, London) and Eunice Wong (Associate, Energy and Infrastructure Finance, London).
