Laura Taylor focuses her practice on employee benefits and executive compensation matters.
She regularly counsels clients on compliance with the Internal Revenue Code and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), as well as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), HIPAA and various other federal and state laws relevant to employee benefit plans. She also counsels on tax issues related to Section 409A and Section 83 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Laura works with tax-qualified retirement plans, non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements, welfare plans and other areas of employee benefits law. Her experience also includes working on compensation and employment issues associated with mergers, acquisitions and business transactions, including performing due diligence and negotiating and preparing contract provisions. Additionally, in this context, she provides advice on executive compensation arrangements and counsel on the benefits structure.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP, Laura was an associate with a large national law firm in Baltimore, Maryland.
