Bill represents owners, contractors and design professionals in all aspects of construction law.
Bill’s life is etched by the construction industry. From the age of 6, he walked among and eventually worked on construction projects with his father, a New York City contractor. Now, with almost four decades of construction law experience, Bill is uniquely positioned as a trusted advisor to those in the industry who need guidance in solving their problems.
Bill helps his clients anticipate and solve potential problems and counsels them on day-to-day operations. He represents owners, contractors and design professionals in the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts and in all aspects of both construction litigation and arbitration, including prosecuting and defending against claims. His litigation and dispute resolution experience enhances his drafting and negotiating of construction contracts for developers and large institutional investors for multifamily projects.
Bill’s wealth of knowledge of the industry and the law results in effective representation of his clients. He knows market trends, understanding what is happening at the macro and micro levels, as well as the latest legal principles that apply to his cases. This deep knowledge informs him as to how his clients should approach contract negotiations and, ultimately, dispute resolution. Bill has mediated, litigated and arbitrated a host of issues, including delay, acceleration, extra work and construction defect claims. He has defended design professionals and contractors against high-profile wrongful death and personal injury claims resulting from structures that collapse while under or after construction, guided data center developers through billion dollar projects, and resolved disputes involving construction defects, extra work and delay claims on data center, multi-family, industrial and stadium projects.
Bill is adept at finding solutions where others see problems. He knows that sometimes the best outcome of a dispute is the one you avoid.
